Source data found1. WWW walwynantiqueclocks, 27-10-2016 Banfield shows Worthington (without Christian name) as circa 1810 to 1830. Both he and Goodison show Worthington & Allan as working between 1821 to 1846 at 196 Piccadilly. Goodison suggests that this was probably Nathaniel Worthington and that the partnership probably succeeded Matthew Berge who was at 199 Piccadilly. Interestingly, Berge succeeded Jesse Ramsden, a maker of international repute in his workshops at the same address. All three of these makers typically employed a very restrained signature in the same style as on this instrument. http://www.walwynantiqueclocks.com/archive/d/worthington-allan-late-berge/185510
2. WWW british-antiqueclocks, 27-10-2016 Nathaniel Worthington & James Allan were excellent instrument makers. Their quality and workmanship originate from their Masters Matthew Berge & Jesse Ramsden. Worthington was apprenticed to Berge and took over the business with Allan in 1819 at 196 Picadilly, London
