Notes: Resumen: Actualmente, los sistemas eléctricos de propulsión están revolucionando los métodos de construcción de los astilleros y cambiando algunos conceptos que se tenían como invariables. El objetivo de este artículo es demostrar que los sistemas híbridos de propulsión eléctrica con turbinas de gas y motores diésel son la solución más perfecta para las próximas décadas. Los actuales sistemas híbridos de propulsión presentan como mayor ventaja la sencilla obtención de energía para los servicios del buque, comunicaciones, radares, armamento de alta energía y también para suministrar corriente en caso de catástrofes humanitarias. La turbina de gas es una máquina simple, con un movimiento natural de giro, comparada con el movimiento alternativo de un motor diésel. Por otro lado, la propulsión eléctrica es la elegida por muchas marinas de todo el mundo para la propulsión de sus nuevos buques. Los requisitos de mercado para las turbinas de gas no deberían cambiar mucho en los próximos años. Lo que en realidad se busca es la obtención de una alta relación/peso, en un fácil mantenimiento y en reducir las dimensiones de la instalación. A modo de conclusión, se puede decir que la cooperación entre empresas es más necesaria que nunca para poder desarrollar programas conjuntos y que la principal necesidad en cuanto a plataforma en los futuros buques militares será una mayor disposición de energía eléctrica
