Notes: Sumario: "Desde que terminó el último conflicto hispano-marroquí, las heridas por armas de guerra han sido lesiones poco frecuentes en nuestro medio hasta hace algunos años. La participación de militares españoles en misiones humanitarias ha incrementado la admisión de heridos de guerra en el Hospital Militar Central 'Gómez Ulla'. Se han estudiado retrospectivamente 151 bajas evacuadas desde la Antigua Yugoslavia al Hospital 'Gómez Ulla' durante el despliegue de United Nation Protection Forces. De las 39 bajas causadas por armamento bélico, 36 (92%) fueron heridos por munición explosiva y sólo 3 (8%) por fusilería. Las lesiones más frecuentes fueron músculo-esqueléticas (82%), en miembros inferiores (59%) y con cuerpos extraños (62%). Las minas terrestres son una causa importante de baja en misiones humanitarias en zonas de guerra."
