Notes: Sumario: "Una ojeada a la cabina de un F.18 nos da idea del progreso en el área "MAN-MACHINE-INTERFACE".- Haciendo historia la cabina de un avión moderno apenas contiene elementos comunes con los primeros "más pesados que el aire".- En la segunda mitad de siglo las velocidades y maniobrabilidad de los cazas comenzaban a sobrepasar las posibilidades del hombre; se tiene entonces a montarse en sensores que amplien la información. Con esto no se solucionó el problema; en caso de combate real el exceso de datos puede no proporcionar mayor información.- La ingeniería de factores humanos se puede definir como: "la técnica que trata de obtimizar las relaciones entre las personas y sus actividades, mediante la aplicación sistemática de las Ciencias Humanas, en estrecha relación con la ingeniería de sistemas".- Las únicas formas de mejorar la efectividad del sistema hombre-máquina pueden ser: aumentar la capacidad limitada de asimilación de los medios humanos y alterar el diseño de equipos y sistemas para que sus características se adapten a las capacidades del elemento humano. Diseñar un sistema artifical que trabaje en estrecha relación con la inteligencia humana es un reto mayor que diseñar un sistema automático no tripulado.- El F.18 marca el comienzo de una nueva era en la ingeniería de sistemas.- En una reciente encuesta efectuada a pilotos canadienses, españoles de F.18, las calificaciones de 300 factores relacionados con la "Seguridad en Vuelo" y "la operatividad" fueron calificadas de muy positivas.- Tasladando el problema a la realidad de un nuevo proyecto entre (Eurofighter 2.000) las necesidades de interacción hombre-máquina aumentan dramáticamente.- con una capacidad de proceso informático 10 elevado a 6veces superior al F.18 y la posibilidad de utilizar la voz como mando interactivo, se comprenderá cual es lamagnitud del desafío del diseño de una cabina de este tipo" (Resumen facilitado por la Revista)
