Sumario: Con el término de inclusión dentaria nos referimos a una pieza dentaria que no ha hecho erupción en la arcada mandibular o maxilar pasada la fecha cronológica normal, permaneciendo parcial o totalmente cubierta de hueso o mucosa oral. Se trata de una anomalía frecuente en el desarrollo eruptivo, que afecta predominantemente a los terceros molares y a los caninos y que puede cursar de forma asintomática o produciendo trastornos que hagan preciso su tratamiento. Analizamos nuestra experiencia en el estudio y tratamiento de 121 pacientes con un total de 367 inclusiones dentarias, y valoramos los distintos criterios existentes a la hora de establecer una indicación quirúrgica. El tratamiento de todos los casos fue quirúrgico, realizando la avulsión de la inclusión o inclusiones dentarias y la exéresis de la lesión quística asociada con legrado de la cavidad resultante.
