Pertenece a la Mancomunidad Tajo-Salor y su término municipal está completamente rodeado por el de Cáceres. Este municipio de casi 2000 habitantes destaca por ser un importante cruce de caminos entre Cáceres, Valencia de Alcántara y Alburquerque y se prevé que por aquí pase la Autovía A-58 que unirá Cáceres con la frontera de Portalegre. El municipio es famoso por el Tesoro de Aliseda."
"Aliseda is a municipality in the province of Cáceres and autonomous community of Extremadura, Spain. The municipality covers an area of 81 square kilometres (31 sq mi) and as of 2011 had a population of 2013 people. In 1920 a treasure with an anormous historical significance was found in Aliseda. Finding Treasure of Aliseda in 1920 revealed that the origin of the town belonged to a period before Christ, as we found traces of the Late Bronze Age at the top of the Sierra del Aljibe"
