Distrito Federal

"El Distrito Federal es una de las 27 unidades federales de Brasil. En su territorio se encuentra la capital federal, Brasilia, que es también la sede del gobierno del Distrito Federal. Fue fundado en 21 de abril de 1960. El actual Distrito Federal fue concebido, a través de un proyecto del entonces presidente Juscelino Kubitschek de cambio de la capital nacional del municipio de Río de Janeiro hasta el centro del país. Hasta la creación de Brasilia, la capital federal fue la ciudad de Río de Janeiro, precedida por Salvador de Bahía."
